EBT Sand
Reliable Flow Performance at High Temperatures
A special refractory filling material used to fill the EBT taphole of electric arc furnaces.
EBT Sand is a special refractory filling material used to fill the EBT (Eccentric Bottom Tapping) taphole of electric arc furnaces in iron and steel plants.
It helps keep the taphole closed until the liquid steel in the electric arc furnace is tapped. Olivine sand withstands temperatures up to 1760°C and, thanks to its free-opening property under suitable conditions, flows out under its own weight during tapping.
